Earlier the whole district of Sundergarh was under one Lok Sabha Constituency , which remained same after the delimitation exercise in the year of 2008 . Accordingly Sundargrah parliamentary constituency represents the only Lok Sabha constituency from the district. In Lok Sabha election in the year 2009 , Shri Hemananda Biswal of Indian National Congress has been elected as Member of Parliament ( Lok Shaha) from Sundargarh.
Apart from him one , of the senior politicians from Sundargarh District and Ex- Minister of Odisha Shri Mangala Kishan also represents our state for Membership of Rajya Sabha (upper house of Parliament). His tenure as a member of Rajya Sabha is from 03/04/2008 to 02/03/2014 .
