It seems the railways are doing a patience test with teh people of Rourkela.Again the services have been suspended till 21st July.Instead of giving any alternative or having any alternative plan the railways are sticking to the disaponiting old plan.Should go for a rail roko unless the railways start an alternative service to Delhi from Rourkela.Even the CM and the politicians are least botherd.

Pure conspiracy

8477/8478 Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express covers a distance of 683 kms between Rourkela and Puri. i.e. via Kharagpur,Tata. If this train will ply between Puri and Rourkela via Daitari,Kendujhargarh,Bansapani the distance will be reduced to 577 ms thus saving 106 kms . It will reach Rajkharsuan Jn on Howrah-Mumbai mainline after 5 in the morning. Still Railways had the harsh alternative to deprive Rourkela of its only trin to Delhi

Hello Sir,

I came across the below statement on http://www.serailway.gov.in/

HOWEVER, IN VIEW OF THE AGITATION BY TATA PASSENGERS IT HAS BEEN DECIDED THAT 2802 WILL RUN ON NORMAL ROUTE i.e. VIA GMO – BKSC – PRR - TATA FROM 03.06.10 AND ON DAYS IT IS RUNNING EVEN MARGINALY BEHIND THE SCHEDULE, IT SHALL BE CONTROLLED AT TATA UPTO 05.00 HRS. OF NEXT DAY.

What i think we should involve representatives from CITU,Rourkela Chambers of Commerce to sort out the issue regarding connectivity to Rourkela from Delhi. My options are as below.

1) Run Utkal Express as link express.Half goes to Puri and rest comes to RKL.
Next day it will depart on its scehdule departure time.
2) Extend gondwana express till Roukela
3) Extend Ranchi-Delhi Gaib rath or any Ranchi-Delhi superfast to Rourkela till normal timings for Utkal is restored.

Or last but not the least similar AGITATION at Rourkela railway station .

Sir,
I think its the right time to raise the railway connectivity issue of Rourkela with New Delhi when the CM visits the steel city.Let him know how the people feel when trains starting from Orissa especially for Delhi dont benifit too much to the people of Western Orissa is general and Rourkela in particular. Example like the Orissa Sampark kranti express and Rajdhani express all going via Tata. Why the BBSR rajdhani and Orissa sampark kranti cant ply via Rourkela through hatia route and go via Keonjhar to BBSR.Trains starting from other states for Delhi never benifited people of Orissa. If benifit done then it was revoked after widespread protest Eg-Bilaspur Rajdhani. Why we the people of Orissa in general and Rourkela in particular should compromise. Are we made to be taken forgranted and our problems thrown ignored and thrown in the dustbin.

i am trying to contact our mp from khurda, sundergarh and jharsuguda regarding this matter,if possible i will meet pyari mohan mohapatra@bbsr for this topic (recently he raised the issue of khurda balangir railline)and i will give him a letter reagarding eco railway,

if possible after getting the rkl div under eco,we should demand for a branch office of ecorailway bbsr at rourkela, after 5/6 year we can upgrade that office to a new divisonal headquarter "MIDDLE EAST RAILWAY"
