Addressing thousands of gatherings Gegory Minz , MLA , Rajgangpur and Dr. Prafulla Majhi , MLA , Talsara of the District support the issue and decided that they would raise the said issue at the upcomming Assembly session starts from 8th March 2010.

Among the others , former Speaker and Minister Kishore Patel called for broadening of the Action Committee by involving more people from various walks of life in Sundergargh, Jharsuguda , Sambalpur and Keonjhar districts. 1. I am really glad to see that finally the people of Rourkela awaking on this issue and putting their genuine demand in a peaceful manner. This kind of civil agitation will not only create awareness among localites but also send a message to the Govt. of Odisha, that a decision need to be taken strategically and not blindly for sake of one’s convenience. Let the Govt not be in an impression that it can take people’s demand for granted. If they do so then they have to pay a heavy price in future particularly during next election.

I appreciate everybody’s effort on this. Uniform development accross all areas of Odisha is indeed required and can promote odisha’s number in order of poverty ( Currently it is #1 ) in India.

Rourkela is undoubtedly the best place for setting up ESIC Medical College. The State Govt. may have to pay a heavy prive for neglecting the just demands of the people of Western Orissa. when AIIMS like institutes are coming up at Bhubaneswar, it is unfortunate that the State Govt. is bent upon setting up the ESIC Medical College there.

On behalf of “Basudebpur Jana Kalyan Parishad, Rourkela” I fully support the demand of the Action Committee.
