Zimkhana bags Jyoti Ranjan Invitation Cricket trophy
Rourkela: The Zimkhana cricket team bagged the Jyoti Ranjan Invitation Cricket trophy defeating the Mukteswar Cricket Club, Bhubaneswar in 5 wickets held at Uditnagar Ground on 11 March, 2010 under the auspices of Uditnagar Youth Club. In a 40 overs final match, batting first the Mukteswar Club could able to score 197 runs with the loss of ten wickets in 33.2 overs. Batting second the winning team in 33.4 overs scored 198 runs with the loss of 5 wickets. Ansuman Gop of winning team scored 82 runs and was adjudged as Man of the final. Similarly Natraj Behera was adjudged as Man of the Series and Chitta Mishra as best bowler.
OCA President Ranjib Biswal attended the prize giving ceremony as Chief Guest. While winning team received a cheque for Rs. 21,000/- and trophy, the runners up team received Rs. 15,000/- and runners up trophy from the Chief Guest in presence of Rourkela Municipality Chairperson Rashmibala Mishra and Vice Chairman R.N.Mishra. The Chief Guest assured the organisers to take steps for OCA recognition to the said tournament.
